Shahrukh Khan’s much awaited sequel Don 2 got released today in India (it had early release in UK and UAE) and the opening numbers are excellent! If we look at the overall picture at the Indian box office, Don 2 registered 80% occupancy. Multiplexes had 80-85% opening collection whereas single screens had 70-75% collection.
West Bengal had the best numbers, as the collections were above 90% in both single screens and multiplexes. South India circuit Mysore is also expected to have good show. Delhi NCR registered strong numbers and Punjab was good too. UP/CI/Bihar saw the lower opening in general since the B, C centres didn’t perform well in these circuits, as expected.
Trade guru Taran Adarsh tweeted “#Don2 fetches solid, superb start.”
