Son of Sardaar movie 300x200 Ajay Devgn & Sonakshi Sinha Are The Worst Actors At Golden Kela Awards 2013

Ajay Devgn & Sonakshi Sinha in Son Of Sardaar

Ajay Devgn & Sonakshi sinha won the worst actor & worst actress awards respectively at the 5th annual Golden Kela awards 2013. Ajay Devgn was nominated for his performance in Son Of Sardaar whereas Sonakshi Sinha was nominated for almost all the movies she acted in 2013 including Joker, Son of Sardaar & Rowdy Rathore. Golden Kela awards are the equivalent to razzie awards in Hollywood where worst movies and performances in the movie industry are recognized. Golden Kela awards have been gaining popularity over the years in Bollywood for the reason that it makes fun of many of the poor quality box office hits. Most interestingly, the award titles are hilarious.

Shirish Kunder’s movie on aliens & a remote village full of crazy people titled Joker won the worst film award. This movie had received maximum flak when it got released in 2012. Even the lead actor Akshay Kumar stayed away from promoting the film. It’s undoubtedly the most bashed film of the year on every medium including twitter.

The worst sequel award went to Salman Khan’s Dabangg 2. However the movie was a huge box office success in 2012. But then again the reviews were not that encouraging.

“Bawra Ho Gaya Hai Ke” (have you gone mad) award went to Indian moviegoers. One has to say it’s an apt award since Indian mass is the reason behind the success of many low-grade masala movies in 2012 & in the last couple of years.

The most irritating song award was given to “Chinta Ta Chinta” song from Rowdy Rathore. “Po Po” song from Son of Sardaar gave tough competition to Chinta Ta in this category.

Most atrocious lyrics award went to Anvita Dutt for “Ishq Waala Love” from Student Of The Year, directed by Karan Johar. This spoof of this song titled “Gaana wala song” had gone viral on the internet in 2012 making fun of the shallow lyrics. Once again, an apt winner we must say!

A special award titled “Superhit of 2012″ went to Shahrukh Khan for his slapping controversy with Shirish Kunder. Well, this is the wittiest title without any doubt!

Another hilarious award “Why Are You Still Trying” went to Jackky Bhagnani, the son of famous producer Vashu Bhagnani, who has been struggling to find a foothold in the industry with his failed attempts like “Kal Kissne Dekha”, “Ajab Gazabb Love” and the recent “Rangrezz“.

Another important award “Bas Kijiye Bahut Ho Gaya” went to the Bhatt family. They have been making B-grade sex thrillers over the years and the award organizers have decided to make fun of the Bhatt family through this special honor.

Last but not least, the good movies were also also honored at the ceremony with an award titled anti-kela awards. The winners in this category are Anurag Kashyap’s “Gangs of Wasseypur”, Tigmanshu Dhulia’s “Paan Singh Tomar”, Shoojit Sircar’s “Vicky Donor” and Sujoy Ghosh’s “Kahaani”.

With that, Golden Kela awards have once again proved that they are the wittiest & most daring award organizers in Bollywood!

Do you agree with these awards?

Check out Dabangg 2 synopsis (story) below.

    DABANGG 2 SYNOPSIS

Salman Khan is back as Chulbul Pandey in Dabangg 2, the second adventure in one of the most successful franchises of all time in Indian cinema. In Dabangg 2, Chulbul Pandey has to battle the evil goon turned politician Baccha Bhaiyya. As he tries to strengthen his family ties with his father and brother. And romance his newly wed wife. And remain ‘Dabangg’ (strong and powerful) no matter what.

Dabangg 2 is a continuation of the amazing exploits of Chulbul ‘Robin Hood’ Pandey played by Salman Khan.

The notable facets of the character include his nonchalance, his wry sense of humor and his tongue-in-cheek dialogues.

In the first film, Chulbul was pitted against Chedi Singh a local goon. And Chedi Singh had killed Chulbul’s mother Naina Devi (Dimple Kapadia).

Thus his family now consists of his stepfather Prajapati Pandey (Vinod Khanna), his younger half-brother, Makhanchan “Makkhi” Pandey (Arbaaz Khan), Makkhi’s wife Nirmala (Mahi Gill). And his wife Rajjo (Sonakshi Sinha).

This film begins with Chulbul moving on from being a local inspector in a small town Laalganj to becoming an Inspector-in-charge of Bajariya Thana, a police station in Kanpur, the largest and most populous city in Uttar Pradesh.
After arriving in Kanpur, Chulbul immediately gets into action thus bringing him in conflict with Baccha Bhaiyya (Prakash Raj). Baccha Bhaiyya is a criminal turned politician. Baccha Bhaiyya is aided by his two brothers, the cool and collected Chunni (Nikitin Dheer) the archetypal brawn in the trio. And Gainda (Deepak Dobriyal) the impulsive, hotheaded younger brother.
On numerous occasions Chulbul and Baccha Bhaiyya end up at loggerheads. But Baccha Bhaiyya’s strong desire to go legit and the keen advice from the senior political leader Awadh Narayan Singh (Yuggal Kishore) prevent him from taking on Chulbul.
Chulbul continues to be aided by his trustworthy band of constables from Laalganj. And also makes new associates in Kanpur.
Chulbul also receives the whole-hearted support of SP Mathur (Manoj Pahwa).
If in the earlier film we witnessed Chulbul’s strained relationship with his stepfather Prajapati. In this film, we see Prajapati emerge as the true patriarch of the Pandey family. We witness Chulbul and Prajapati’s father-son bond grow and deepen through the film.
We also get to see the romantic Chulbul woo his new bride Rajjo. Rajjo now the lady of the house, exercises her rights and matches Chulbul in his wayward ways.
In a happy ending, Rajjo gives birth to Junior Pandey.
If Dabangg marked the return of action films, Dabangg 2 takes it to a higher level with some of the coolest action sequences ever conceived. The soundtrack of the film contains five original songs each with a promise of being a chartbuster like its predecessors. All in all, Dabangg 2 promises to be a full on entertainer, Chulbul Pandey and his sunglasses et al.
