It collected 5.46 crore on Friday to everyone’s surprise. It has collected 5.10 crore on Saturday, registering only a small drop in collections.

The movie is Varun Dhawan’s biggest opener yet as it surpassed the opening day figure of his 2014 release Main Tera Hero. Humpty Sharma Ki Dulhaniya collected 9.02 crore nett in India on the opening day. As for Main Tera Hero, it collected 6.60 crore nett. This is very good opening considering business was affected by various factors. Heavy rain in Mumbai had affected the box office performance in Mumbai. Besides that, Riteish Deshmukh starer Marathi movie Lai Bhaari did excellent business across Maharashtra. Despite these factors, Humpty Sharma Ki Dulhaniya opened to wonderful numbers at the box office in India.

However, the movie is expected to dominate the box office in this week. Unlike last week’s releases, Humpty Sharma Ki Dulhaniya is expected to do well at the box office considering the youth factor.
