Meet The Cute Couple Of 2 States – Arjun Kapoor & Alia Bhatt!
Arjun Kapoor and Alia Bhatt become sought after stars after their respective debut films ‘Ishaqzaade’ and ‘Student Of The Year’ in 2012. Now these two are coming together for Karan Johar – Sajid Nadiadwala production ’2 States’. The movie is based on the best seller book of the same name by Chetan Bhagat. Ever since the release of the book it was considered to be a hot property for a celluloid adaptation. Poducer Sajid Nadiadwala had the rights to the film. Initially Shahrukh Khan was supposed to be cast in the film as the Punjabi protagonist. At some point it was reported that ace director Imtiaz Ali would direct the movie with Ranbir Kapoor in the lead role. However there was no update on the film for long until recently. Finally it was revealed few weeks ago that Arjun Kapoor is cast in the movie to be directed by Abhishek Verman and produced by Karan Johar & Sajid Nadiadwala.
Karan Johar revealed on twitter on January 28 that Alia Bhatt is the heroine of the film, he wrote, “Sajid Nadiadwala and me collaborate on #2 States which starts filming 2mor with Arjun Kapoor and Alia Bhatt…directed by Abhishek Varman”
And on the next day he dramatically declared that they have begun the shooting of the film with wedding song! He tweeted, “#2states starts 2day with a wedding song!!!! #arjunkapoor @aliaa08!!”.
2 States is a love story revolving around a Punjabi guy and Tamil girl and the story is based on Chetan Bhagat’s real life love story. The customs, language and culture are different in these two states and therefore their love story and the subsequent marriage pave way for lots of interesting moments in the novel involving their families.
It was earlier reported that Priyanka Chopra, Asin Thottumkal & Deepika Padukone were considered for the role. With the latest announcement, Student Of The Year star Alia Bhatt is the lucky one to play the Brahmin girl in 2 States!
